Our philosophy is that autistic people are doing the best they can given their biology, beliefs and current motivations. They may not look like it at first glance, but they thrive on and crave love, enjoyment, creative challenges, and not being judged. Autistic people actually love to love and connect with people when it can be comfortable for them. We’re here to make progress and development more enjoyable for everyone involved, and it turns out that aids recovery. Judging negatively in their presence – whether you’re judging them, yourself, or anything else – is strongly off-putting and will further distance them from wanting interaction with you. We want to inspire, invite and challenge autistic people through love and connection and the excitement of high hopes. We want them to enjoy being interactive with us they work on all their interactive skills that can unlock their abilities, happiness, and ambition, which is their path out of autism.
Two techniques, one goal: We promote neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections through:
- Anat Baniel Method (ABMI), which promotes neuroplasticity through movement, see http://www.anatbanielmethod.com/children/children-with-special-needs for more info on this approach.
- another trademarked play therapy that promotes neuroplasticity through positive attitude, varied play and challenges, see http://www.autismtreatmentcenter.org for more info on this approach.
